Proceratophrys boiei, male


Proceratophrys oiei is an anuran from the Leptodactylidae Family, being endemic in Brazl, i.e., occurring only in Brazil.
This frog inhabits the forest of subtropical ou tropical low humidity. It has integument appendages in the upper eyelids, resembling horns. The color of its integument varies from gray to brown and has dark brown longitudinal spots on its back. It is found in the forest floor, and because of its color, it looks like dry leaves. Therefore, the color of the skin is a perfect camouflage for protection against predatos and helps prey capture.
