The Anfifada and the Enchanted Charm

The play “The Anfifada and Enchanted Charm” based on the book was first staged at the 3rd Symposium on Amphibians (SIMANF) in 2008, being performed several times since then.

After the opening, students from the 2nd term of Biological Sciences at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro staged the story "The Anfifada and the Enchanted Charm," written by Dr. Lycia Gitirana, in order to arise children´s interest about amphibians. The play emphasizes the Anuran Order, which means “no tail”, and refers to frogs, toads and tree frogs. Salamanders and caecilians, mentioned at the beginning ot this text, belong nto Urodela ou Caudata Order, which are tetrapods with tails, and Gymnophiona or Apoda, amphibians without legs.
